Black Magic By Maija

"Black Magic" wolf art print with a indian madian with her black wolf protecting her in the pines, painted by Native American Artist Maija available as a open edition print and a mini print(unsigned) Maija has made her home in the foothills of the Rockies. Wolves, eagles and other wildlife are abundant in the area and serve a rich resource of inspiration for Maija’s artwork. The breathtaking scenery and the Ponderosa pines can only make one imagine a time when the land was inhabited by the Native American. Although Maija has used other media, her favorite and most productive is pastels. One cannot help being mesmerized by the emotion she captures in her subject’s eyes – whether it be her maidens, or the character she evokes from her elderly chiefs and rugged mountain men. None of Maija’s skills have developed overnight. Her portrait skills became evident in high school, when she frequently did likenesses of her classmates. Early Maija's portrait art was eagerly bought by friends and fellow workers. Her skills have been evolving ever since. Now that she has mastered the wolf in her paintings, Maija has developed a close affinity for the world of wildlife and a strong sense of Southwest and Native American Culture. Her horse portraits followed visits to horse ranches in the area.
