"In the summer of 2008, my family and I were lucky enough to visit Robert and Birgit Bateman at their home on Saltspring Island, BC. After dinner two of my boys were wrestling on a mat on the deck. Long after we got home I printed the photograph I had taken of them and immediately noticed the vivid colors of the flowers behind them and thought it would make a wonderful painting. Robert was responsible for me becoming a professional artist and it is an honor to name a painting after him." ~ Terry Isaac
