Geyser Basin - Grizzly Bears By Rod Frederick

Geyser Basin - Grizzly Bears by Rod Frederick

It's late afternoon in Yellowstone National Park and a mother grizzly and her cubs are emerging from behind a rock. The first snowfall indicates that winter is coming; however, the geysers keep things warm. The mother is ready to protect her brood every though - because of the grizzly's bad eyesight - she can't really tell who or what is approaching. The cubs are curious about the new smells, the first snowfall and the changing season.

Grizzlies are considered endangered in the lower forty eight states but there are still a number of them in Yellowstone albeit are hard to find.
