The unmistakable sounds were all around on those dry chilly days just ahead of winter. The steamy Model A shook and surged under the load. The circular crosscut snarled and zinged through log after log. Finally, the wood pile sprawled in sufficient bulk to overflow the wood shed and the job was done again, winter’s fuel was laid in.
