A limited edition upland game bird art print with some Gambels Quail in a desert setting.
"Gambels Quail at Bell Rock is scene took place at Oak Creek Canyon at a the entrance to Sedona, Arizona. These little quail always came to feed in the backyard at quarter to four every day. They were so on time that you could set your watch by their arrival."
"I hunt bobwhite quail, but these birds were so cute and fun to watch that I decided to paint them instead. I could get within four or five feet of them. The Indian pottery in the painting I got from my friend, Bill Freeman, a famous Western artist. The pottery is indigenous to the area."
"My friend Virgil Gerig helped me with the research on this piece. He also wrote the copy that appears on the limited edition print." ~ Les Kouba
