"Dedication" appeared on the cover of the 2002 Boys State hockey tournament program. This was the first tournament to take place after the attacks on 9/11/01 and inspired "Dedication" and another piece called "Home of the Brave" which appeared on the 2002 Girls program cover. This is one my favorite pieces. The title refers to a young man's dedication to the game of hockey, but also reflects a dedication to family and country as well. I used many personal effects in this painting and modeled the warming house after the display the US Hockey Hall of Fame in Eveleth, Minnesota. signed -Fogarty
