Rats on the Rainy by Terrance Fogarty On January 20th, 2007 the Minnesota Wild along with Fox Sports Net North and the entire state of Minnesota celebrated "Hockey Day Minnesota." This daylong broadcast on FSN featured three games starting with a game between St. Paul Johnson and Lake of the Woods high schools played outdoors on the Rainy River in Baudette. The University of Minnesota-Denver University match up and Minnesota Wild versus Dallas Stars rounded out the days festivities. In commemoration of Hockey Day Minnesota, the Wild commissioned Terrence Fogarty to create a piece of art for the occasion.This piece was commissioned in 2007 for the "Hockey Day Minnesota" celebration by the Minnesota Wild. "Rats" features a pack of early risers preparing to do battle on the Rainy River near Baudette, Minnesota. In the distance, just a slap shot away from the action, is the International Bridge leading to Rainy River, Ontario.
