Church Raising by Les Kouba

This is one of the paintings done for the Red Wing Boot company.

As the community matured, the people sensed a void in their lives. They needed a proper place for weddings and christenings…for prayer. They needed a church. In sudden accord, they brought their amazing variety of skills to the chosen spot and “raised” a house of worship. Almost before they knew it, the lofty spire was there, lifting their thoughts to the divine power that had given them the strength to overcome the wilderness.
