The Jordan Buck - Whitetail Deer By Ron Van Gilder

The Jordan Buck - Whitetail Deer by Ron Van Gilder

This print is part of the Legends Series. Boone and Crockett Typical was the world record (Score: 206-1/8) until the Milo Hanson buck came along.

"It began in November 1914 when Jim Jordan, hunting for his winter meat near Danbury, Wisconsin, picked up the tracks of a deer he would pursue for the rest of his life. When the buck rose from its bed, as an oncoming train broke the winter stillness, Jordan would not only be the last, but probably the only man to see this world record alive. Jordan's shot was true, but not decisive. Tracking him to the Yellow River, as the buck splashed ashore on the opposite side, one final shot ended the hunt."
