"I find the arctic landscape fascinating. Although there are no trees on Baffin Island, the combination of tundra, plants, rocks, snow and distant mountains offer rich and varied textures to the eye. The scene which I painted was inspired by a late evening hike. I saw a vantage point overlooking a valley and the mountains beyond, and I also saw - in my mind - an arctic wolf standing there, perhaps hearing the distant call of another." ~ Terry Isaac
