The Drift On Skull Creek Pass By James Bama

The Drift on Skull Creek Pass by James Bama

"Skull Creek Pass lies on an old cattle trail between Cody, Wyoming, and Billings, Montana; in a snowstorm the dangers of the Pass assume nightmare proportions. It's the one place cowboys worry about most in mid-winter cattle drives. In this re-creation, the heavy snows came the first night out, without warning, piling up in deep drifts. The cows, belly deep in snow, panicked. Some broke through the fence and scattered. It was absolute turmoil with the black cows frenzied and frantic against the now-white landscape. The cowboys, all seasoned veterans, managed to round them up and return to Trail Creek." ~ James Bama
