Gone For The Day - Elk Camp By John Seerey - Lester

Gone For the Day By John Seerey-Lester

It’s the Rocky Mountains, 1905, and the camp has been left for the day as the hunters have gone in search of mountain goat.

It is possible one of the hunting party has remained behind to look after base camp, but he may be taking advantage of being alone to have a lie-in. Ensconced in one of the tents, he might be totally unaware that there is a visitor investigating the site. If seen, the brown bear (grizzly) would become a welcome target for the hunters. But for the time being, he is not noticed, and may well depart camp without being discovered. Only his destructiveness and tracks will remain as evidence.
